The Poet

I loved the Lincoln Lawyer n many other Connely charachters. For me the foreword by Stephen King ruined the experience of reading the book. My expectations soared as the novel lagged behind trying to catch up.

The plot of murders of homicide cops was good. The way the clues unfolded was well thought. The characters were beautifully sketched. What lacked was the pace, reasoning and twists inserted into a story with an anticlimactic ending.

It felt like the author just ran out of steam and set up the story to avoid justifying a meaningful end. I felt cheated of the hours I spent reading it.

Though I do believe if I hadn’t read the foreword my review would have been much more positive.
